At the tine of my original original post (Dow Jones Meltdown) the market was not hovering at 9250(40% down) All the pundits point to continued volitility until mid '09 with a possible recovery starting in 20210. What all of this is getting to, is that I just told my dealer that it doesn't make much economic sense to buy another toy at this time. What my personal decision will do is allow the dealership owner to take the bike for himself.
Thanks to all who answered my many questions. As a result of my dilemma over a '07 demo with 2,000 miles on it vs a new '08. The concensus came back to look at newer MTS.
The other side of this economic calamity is that the used motorcycle has dried up. No one has extra cash to sped. It's not a good time to sell a factory custom (CVO) bike and an enclosed Wells Cargo Motorcycle Wagon.
Let's hope we've reached the bottom and that a recovery is on the way soon so that people feel good about purchasing again.

Thanks for wasting our time.

That sounded like some authentic 20210 gibberish.

Well, another way to look at it is: compared to the market, a vehicle is a good investment today.

That's why I don't watch the news. We seem pretty much isolated from the market crap up here.

If you ignore it, it might go away. Whistle

The "up" side is the gas prices are coming down ..........

I'm waiting on that $700 billion check from the gov't to show up in my mailbox before I buy any new bikes. Any day now....

So true...and a few bad months may not quite be the end of the world!! No sarcasm to the above post intended...just made a good lead in.

Da markets are fantasy- driven by speculation and wishful thinking.

Piss poor lenders deserve what thay get... and tight credit will not affect companies who already have good credit. Sorry if you work for one of those with bad!

Life goes on, we adapt accordingly, time to go ride!

Oh, no. I think everything will turn out nice and rosy for everyone, especially if [insert whichever name] wins the election. The billions in crappy paper the fed is buying will rebound, and eventually become profitable. The taxpayers will not have to pay a cent (and may actually see some of the profit back!)

Yeah, right.....
