I have a little different issue than I'm used to having buying a used vehicle. I'm looking at a Multistrada 620 with only 1500mi. Any suggestion on what I should be looking at and what questions to ask? Is there an "expiration date" on the timing belts?

Yes, belts have to be changed every 2 years if remember correctly. |

I would also make sure the oil has been changed a couple times - should be at least every year, but some maintenance is better than none.
Should have had a 500 mile service too.
If your paying market price for for this bike, I would have the current owner do the 1st big service at a reputable dealer- and give you a clean bill of health.
If you getting a great deal, the risk falls on your shoulders.
These are great bikes- good luck
