I hate touring!
A tank of gas and I'm done for the day.
I've never ridden more than 300 miles in a single day.
Any farther than that, my ass is flying the silver bird.
This video translates my vision of what the term MOTORCYCLE means.
A tool.
A tool for generating the adrenaline rush I'm addicted to.
This particular tool may be my next pusher.
I want to see some torque wheelies though.
That might be a feeble attempt towards the end if the video.
Hard to tell.
Definately time for a long test ride.
Back to back tests on the motard and then the strada.
Then off to the KTM dealer to ride the BEAST!!!
So many bikes, so little time

Zook,

I'm with you brother,

but touring to me only makes sense if it's technical and loaded with corners to get the most of my Ducati's, otherwise it's just a waste of fuel and time, to do high mileage to go from A - B, that's reserved for boring bikes and cars.

Most of my touring days even on a long trip is around 500KLMS, and the longest day I've done was an urgent one = 1000 klms, clearly no records here, but rides have to be a hoot man Smile

Bring on the Hyper test, it's my kinda mix of performance and light craft Very Happy

TT

I dont get it Think

i love Touring ...some days 300 km some 500, and often 800 plus..7 to 10 days of 5000km.
In those km are some straight roads , sweepers , off camber , decrease radius, down hill righthanders that open up into short straights that start again into more ribbons of asphalt ....The straight slabs are just for getting there and worth the wait, if fact they wet the appetite ....somewhat ..
Every night a different town , great people to meet ,a new experiance...

the adventure....begins ..again.....perhaps the perfect life
Keener Mr. Green

I'm with you keener... nothing beats discovering new roads, meeting new people and trying out new food and drink.

So many roads, so little time! Cool

I kinda like both. Day rides on the weekends while you plan the next trip, whether it is 3 days or 2 weeks. Just being on the bike and letting the pains and pressure of the job drain away.

Maybe it's because you guys have something to look at while you're droning for hours down the hwy.
Not much to look at in west Texas.
Central Texas is pretty.
I can kinda see why you guys enjoy it from that perspective.
However droning for days on end all day long for weeks? Forget it.
Like I said...a tank a gas and I'm done. Then it's sex, drugs and rock n roll for the rest of the day.
I'm still to young and stupid to slow down and enjoy the scenery I reckon.
Either way, my point is that the adventure bikes are the proper tool for whatever you want to use it for.
Adrenalin pump, touring companion, track day buddy, off road adventures or just sipping fine whiskey and admiring her curves.
In the immortal words of Bruce Brown "to some people a motorcycle is work, or a way to get to work, or a way to get away to the solitude of the open country. A motorcycle is whatever you wanna make it. Turn it on and give yourself a real thrill".
That's all I was trying to say... Eh?

I did 2 tanks and a bot today doing the full tour of Switzerland. Over 600km, yes my butt is sore. bit what a great day!!

I did find a Hyper on top of one of the passes, but I think he was breaking it in because it was not being ridden like it was stolen.

BTW, the scenery was sublime!

Some days I feel the same way Zook. During a long ride my a$$ is numb, my head hurts from my fancy helmet and various joints and muscles ache. But I keep going back for more Shocked

Anyway, I have test ridden a new hyper. They are light, nimble and quick as lightning. Definitely worth a look.
