NEEDED: Moveable Headlight fairing bracket. 04 MTS 1000 . . .although i imagine bracket fits the 620 and many other years too. This is also the bracket that holds the instrument cluster. Thanks!

Hey. Thanks for reply. Yeah, i saw the ebay listing. On a budget so hoping for something cheaper.
I tig'd mine. . .i'm pretty skilled too. The weld broke. The fracture is in a high strain area and i'd rather not have to fix again and again.
Thanks again. Guess it's a tough part to find. I've been looking for one for about a year now. |

After you weld it again bridge the gap on backside with slot from cutoff wheel about 3/4" on each side of weld insert 3/32 bronze rod segment and jb weld in place as vibration damper it's hillbilly but works well |

I'm sure it broke just where the cast ribbing ends on the back. That piece vibrates so much the ribs should have been designed all the way to bolt hole. It's a good casting but you need to get it hot enough to almost replace most metal around break. I have about 2500 mi on my fix now with a roamer mount and Zumo and it shakes less than it ever used to Good luck! |
