Hey guys, I am looking to buy a Multistrada 1200 in the UK, probably one in the 2010-2013 range according to my finances.
I know there are 'S' models which come with Ohlins suspension and standard ones that come with Sachs suspension. Either way, I want one with full luggage.
Aside from arguable posing value, is there any real world advantage in going for an "S" model with the Ohlins suspenders over a stock model with Sach's ? - thanks for any input |

Hi HootOwl
The S-Model is not a great changer.
The comfort is adjustable, and if you go for bad roads, the adjustable ride high is a big plus.
At the negative side are:
- less transparency if you run fast or at tracks
- the Oehlins makes only sense with the add-on box available to provide a ride comfort like the skyhook from the younger models.
- the extra $/£ is a big minus
Two other negative points:
- It looks like the seals of the Oehlins are weaker then the once from Showa (at the other and: The Oehlins-fork is more sensitive)
- If you have an accident with the Swedish Gold, then it becomes VERY expensive to repair.
That's it.
Kind regards
Sam
