My one and only local dealer has a Black '07 MultiStrada 1100S demo with 1,400 miles on it. He wants me to believe that $11,500.00 is a great deal. IS IT???????????????

I've done some checking on NADA and KBB. coms. The info I got from these sites gave the MSRP of an'07 to be $13,995.00. My salesman was comparing the "discount" for the '07 demo from the price of an '08. Not exactly kosher; but typical sales job. I kept mentioning that the '07 will be 2 model years old in a few weeks. I can tell by his reaction he didn't want to hear me. I'll go back in and do some more horse trading and see if they're receptive.

dentguy,
One downside to owning a duck is that their dealerships are few and far between. This keeps competitive pricing down. From the get-go my dealer would have to come down to $10,995.00 and then we might have reason to begin to talk

+1

I purchased a 2007 demo for much less here in CA where prices are typically much higher than the mid-west. Push for $10.5 OTD.

SLROSA,
Now that the NA dealer show is over, I'm not sure how quickly the 2009s will be available. No later than November, I would think. The dealer has 2 or 3 brand new 2008 black multis and the '07 demo on the floor. I'm thinking that for me to take the 2 year old demo they'd better be at $9500.00

That would be a fantastic price for a demo '07 S. The fact that they have a few in stock may serve you but they have to be willing to lose money on the deal. Good luck - you will love the multi!

IMADUCK,
Looks like a white one may be showing up in a dealer next weekend. Check out udukeshere's post. http://www.multistrada.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15518&start=60

slrosa & dentguy,
I think I saw somewhere the'09s will be increased $500.00 over the '08s.
I don't think my dealer is going to bite on $9500.00. They're to new to be in the business of loosing money. According to kbb.com an 07 is valued at $10,995.00. I'll probably start at $10,250.00 and see where it all goes.
Is there a specific problem(s) common to the Multi line? How much should I budget for maintenance?

Just keep saving!
No issues if you use it heaps within the warranty period.
There's no point in only travelling 5000kms in 2 years.
Try to do 40,000 kms and if it'll go, it'll go well before the warranty is up.
Good luck and......enjoy it!
Cheers,
Steve

SLROSA,
$10,500.00 OTD for an '07 1100S, REALLY?????????????? My dealer says $10,400.00 is their cost. Then you add the myrid of "fees" to get the OTD price. This demo has Termi slip-ons plus the 600 mile service has been done.
