My local dealer just contacted me about a couple of 2010 1200S Touring bikes... one brand new and one a demo with just under 1000 miles but has had its first service.
I was just wondering what people were paying these days? The "initial" quote was $18.5 for new and $17.4 for demo. Getting any other incentives lately? Free service, special financing, etc?
Also, I'd be trading in an '09 1100S with around 9k miles.. pretty much stock. Don't know what the trade-in value is... I haven't done any research yet as I really wasn't planning a purchase now but I could be persuaded
Thanks! |

A new 2011 S Touring is $19.5k list, so they are probably on target with their pricing. There aren't many 2010 S Touring units left, so they undoubtedly want to move it. You might be able to dicker a little on it, but don't wait too long.
If you get a 2010, make sure the bags have the updated latch system, and the factory fuel remapping has been done. Oh, and watch the back brake. They have a tendency to need re-bleeding straight out of the crate. You'll know when you press on the rear brake pedal and it feels like there's just two pieces of wood rubbing against the rear rubber. Once they re-bleed it, it gets better. Don't ask me why it comes that way, it just does.
I've got a 2011 S Touring and am in love with it. If you've got the $, spring for the full Termi exhaust and the top case. Both are well worth it.
Good luck! |

My dealer found me a '10 S Sport in Artic White with 56 miles, not registered which he sold me for $17K. Bike was from Ducati Manhattan which closed & Duc took it back. Are those firm prices? |

My dealer called me with a black 2010 touring with under 1000 miles on it. Owner trading it in for the pikes peak edition. price was 18.5k firm. I hesitated and it was gone. Trade in on your 2009 will be terrible, around 7800. If you sell it yourself you should be closer to 9-10k. You never should have taken that test ride!! It ruined me.... |

Eurocycles of Tampa Bay has three (3) 2011 Black S Touring models right now. A mix-up in the ordering at DNA wound them up there. If you call them, you might be able to dicker down to about the $18.5 price, or close to it. They want to move the bikes, since they are stuck with them. A little far from you, but hey, good reason to fly down and ride home! |

I was able to squeeze a little more and get the first service thrown in so today is my first full day with my new 1200
Hudlab was right on with the trade-in. Not getting much for the old style. My dealer has a brand new '09 1100s he's letting go for $10.5k. Fortunately, my '09 was very clean and I just had it serviced and had new tires put on so I got towards the high end for my trade.
Hoping for some great riding weather this summer. Looking forward to putting a bunch of miles on the new ride! |

I also took a real beating on my '08 at trade-in. Hated myself for a while, but now that I've got some miles on the 1200 I'm loving it! I also negotiated the first service with mine, which turned out not to be so much. I think I'd rather have just changed the oil at home... |
