Re: Thinking of buying...

Ok you're not saying how much you can buy it for, but if 1k in more repairs gets you another bike, why take on this project, the engine will be fine with cylinders being nikasil
And a fresh set of belts, oil, filter, drain fuel, refill with non ethanol, check to see if rear panels have gull winged ...

Re: Which one?

1100 has the advantage of

Fuel gauge that works

Wet clutch that is far more dependable

More torque

07 had Marzzochi forks that gave a nice ride

All worth considering

Bike 2. Dosn't look like it's been cared for. Eg tuning neglected, tyres
Neglected, dirty, usual tell tale of owners mindset. Low ball bike 1 and
Fix fork seal as long as chrome tube is not chipped.

Re: 2006 620 in UK

You want to know how recent the major service was done and how old the tyres are
Have a good look for evidence of scrapes, corrosion, ill fitting tank to side plastics and rear plastics lifting at rearmost point - indicating tank swelling from E10 type fuels.

1800# sounds like premium to me, but UK ...

Nah, go with a bike that stirs your soul, every klm/mile should be enjoyed to the full, as it does with a Ducati twin

Re: falling for a 2005 1000ds

congrats, mirrors are a plenty in the aftermarket, search for "FAR" mirrors,

A monster front guard is a good mod used here, the back half is cut and attached to existing one you should be able to search key word and see pics.

decent sized rear huggers may still be found on the internet and at ...

it should be smooth man,

yeah, uhm, I'm with coach,

Dr Taglioni once said (of japanese bikes) the japanese want to make an easy car, I want to make a difficult bicycle" therein lies the character of ducati's, especially two vavle Multi's

ask yourself do you want a ferrari, or Toyota?

Re: 2007 1100s maintenance

Hi all,

I'm looking at buying a 2007 1100s with approx 10,500 miles. From speaking to the service department the bike should go in every 7500 miles for an $1100 service. This seems awfully high, so I have 2 questions:

1. Does that sound reasonable for maintenance cost and window?
2. I'm NO ...

Re: New Hyper Test Ride

Zook,

I'm with you brother,

but touring to me only makes sense if it's technical and loaded with corners to get the most of my Ducati's, otherwise it's just a waste of fuel and time, to do high mileage to go from A - B, that's reserved for boring bikes and cars.

Most of my touring days even on a ...

Re: Buying first Multi

Buy the '04. Ride the dog snot out of it. That's a great deal. You may need a tank. You may need valve guides. You WILL have a great time riding it.

plus 1 ...same bike as the 1100 in reality , the 1100 have had all the same issues , guides, tank, etc ....100cc does not equate to that much more ...
