Re: Riding position
How about me. I'm 5'7, 130 lbs. I'm shopping used Ducatis and am leaning towards a Multistrada or the Monster. I liv How high does the Multistrada sit ( I've never sat on one and there are not any dealerships very close). I would love to buy a multistrada, but am worried about my verticaly ...

Re: I want a Multi, but....
I just bought one, and intend to do some traveling. It can't make me stiffer than a 696.

Re: Any last words?
Thanks all, too late for more advice. Done. Decision made. Money Spent. I will announce actual event in its own thread. I really appreciate all the help. I'm a romantic, wouldn't want a pre-nup. Under the law, however, if the Multi kills me, it can't get any of my estate.

Any last words?
Pretty much ready to pull the trigger on a 2008. Only reasons for '08 vs. '09 choice are deal and dealer. Didn't pick Tiger or Sprint because former feels taller and is top heavier. I wonder about the sprint in traffic, the sporty position, and panniers that won't hold a helmet. But I sure wish the ...

Re: 2008 vs. 2009
the 08 has the dash issue and the fuel gage issue
Figured out the value issue. Pretty simple, just don't sell it. OK, I get that. I have seen the posts trying to sell the 2007. But I have also seen the same type of posts for every bike I am considering. Bottom line: throw out about 1/3 of ...

Re: 2008 vs. 2009
Pretty close to a decision. But, having read extensively in the "Problems" forum, I wanted to know if anyone thinks that one model year carries a higher risk of mechanical problems than another. Are there a higher number of problems with 2008s than other years?
Also, plenty of people have said the ...

Re: 2008 vs. 2009
I really don't have a color preference. I was only trying to name the only change for the '09 model year, or see if color was relevant to price. I am more interested in appropriate price differences between new bikes from the three model years. Does resale (which appears problematic with this bike ...

2008 vs. 2009
Other than color, I understand that there are no changes between '08 and '09 1100s. If this is correct, could someone advise on, given future resale value, whether it makes much of a difference.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Purchase advice - Pricing
OK, I live in the Northeastern US, winter is coming, and today many of the roads are covered by wet leaves, pine needles etc. Still, I am actually toying with the idea of buying a new bike (2008S) with some add ons. I'd like a general idea of what a reasonable discount (%)from sticker would be for ...

Re: Multistrada vs. what?
So the hugger is not what the pannier hooks onto? Thanks. Are the panniers easy to remove, say like a suitcase, if you are traveling?
Jaco, I am actually looking at a 1100S, hope all your enthusiasm still applies.

Re: Multistrada vs. what?
Are those big black things in the picture the attachment hardware for the side panniers or are they something else. If the former, I am surprised. I have seen the pegs to attach side cases to the BMW, and that is mostly one small steel peg.

Re: Multistrada vs. what?
Sailwa66: Are the brackets for the panniers just little posts like on the BMW 800ST, or are they larger frames?
