well looked at the bike today and took a very short testdrive (no insurance) but it felt, sounded and looked great. Also had a set of Arrows system. It took a few seconds to start up but seems it's been sitting for a little while. I'm going to check with nearby shop how common the valveguide problem ...

Found a relative low mileage 1000S, what are the problem areas to look for? From what I understand it is valve guides, what's the symptoms, white smoke? Also leaking gas tanks or was that the earlier years? What about instrument cluster, read somewhere they're problematic as in fuel gauge way off ...
