Re: 2012 MTS 1200 touring pricing?
I bought my 03 in November 2003 and I believe this was about the time the 04s began showing up. Ducati had zero percent financing for the 03s. The dealer gave me at least 10% off on all the accessories and labor for any installation. Right now you can get low financing or a $1,200 in store credit ...

Re: 1100 Mulit - CA emission compliant?
I thought the word "California" needs to appear on one of these EPA stickers. Here is the link:
http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/brochures/fast_facts/ffvr29.htm
"To find out whether a car or truck is California Certified, check the emission label under the hood. For a motorcycle check the headset or ...

Re: Long distance rides
I have issues with my right wrist and shoulders, and have found the Genmar riser, which lifts the handlebars up and back, to be of tremendous help. I went on a 1,600 mile over 4+ days this summer without any ill effects. Note that I have a 2003 and the newer ones might have different handlebars, but ...

Re: On the verge - value of used hard panniers?
What's the ball-park street price for used (say, scuffed) bags?
There are 3 ducati hard bags, the approx. capacity is as follows:
1) 28L
2) 34L
3) 32L by Givi; these are the latest models and have different latches.
The value of a used may be a function of if they are 1,2, or 3. My guess is the ...

WTB: Red, right side 28L pannier (left for sale, also)
I won a ebay auction but unfortunately both 28L red bags were for the left side (left seated on bike; viewed from back to front, called port on a boat). Does anyone have a right-side 28L red pannier they want to sell? If you want a left one, please e-mail me and I can forward your interest to the ...

Re: OTD price for MTS 620 in So Cal?
Speaking of all these OTD prices, generally, can you bargain much with a Ducati dealership?
When I bought my 03 1000DS, the bike was hot and from what I got on this board the price was not negotiable. I did get 0 percent financing because I bought an 03 vs. and 04, so that's gotta be worth $700 ...

Re: mts620 for a newbie? (long)
My dealer told me the 620 MTS will be priced at US$7,500. However, what accessories will you add? You could easily spend $2-3K more on an exhaust system and other goodies. You may be able to do better than the $11,500 list for the 1000 if you do some research. You might be able to get zero percent ...

Re: New to list, I want a Multistrada
Dr. Duc: I doubt the price is negoitiable, but perhaps you can get a discount on the financing, scheduled maintenance, or accessories. Perhaps the destination and dealer prep charges are negotiable. BTW, if you can get your hands on a 2003 MTS, you get zero percent financing. Also be aware all bikes ...

I did a google.com search on bmw m/c maintenance costs and ducati m/c maintenance costs. I found the following sites:

BMW 1150RT-P costs were roughly 15 cents per mile (2001 costs I believe). Costs included scheduled maintenance, mechanical repair, and ...

Re: Cost of Ownership.
Some members have reported a valve job every 6,000 miles costs $600. But it's unclear if it's actually necessary every 6,000 miles; maybe it's probably likely, though:

Re: Any battery leakage problems with your new MTS?
Jantah: Thanks for your research. The battery is upright and is a YUASA. Looks like battery leaks will not be an issue for the MTS.
There is still a question about the voltage regulator. One person on the Monster board was concerned and relocated it, just in case the problem is regulator related ...

Re: Any battery leakage problems with your new MTS?
Steve: Good point on the MTS battery being upright and not on its side. I was told by the dealer the battery was on its side in the MTS. I guess he never looked.

Any battery leakage problems with your new MTS?
About 40 owners of Monster Ducatis (SR & S4R) have reported leaking batteries. These leaks have caused damage to engine and frame parts. The faulty battery appears to be from the original equipment manufacturer, GS/Fiamm. Owners replacing this battery with a YUASA gell seem to be satisfied. You can ...

Re: Concern about theft of ungaurded MTS?
Thanks for your reply, Jantah. There is no gate at my parking lot. Fixing it to the earth, such as a light pole or something similar, seems like the most practical thing to do. It's the professional thieves, as you mentioned, who I am worried about. My friend has a Harley and says they (the pro's ...
