Re: thinking about buying an 05 Multistrada DS

Just had a look at the listing. It looks clean. Appears to be termi exhaust slip-ons (cat still present). Price seems fair.

Re: thinking about buying an 05 Multistrada DS

That bike is plenty capable of 2 up with gear.

The older aircooled multis are quirky. There are some known issues which you can explore here on this forum. If you can live with that, no problem. The engines are dead simple and easy to learn to maintain yourself.

Ask the PO if he knows when it was ...

Re: Tell me I am crazy...

You can do a lot of fixing if your starting point is only $2,500. It's good that it has no fuel in it. Change all filters, fluids, belts and check valves. Can you do that stuff yourself? If you can, buy it.

Re: Should 2009 1100s come with a red key?

What do the black keys look like? My '09 M696 has a totally different key than my '07 1100S. The monster key is a high security chip key, and it's a wider flatter key with a groove pattern in the middle. The multi key looks like a regular cut key. If it's the newer key, then no, it doesn't come with ...

Re: Decision time:1100S or 1200S Touring

I made my choice... '07 1100S. The desmodue is dead simple to maintain. It has plenty of torque, and I find it a pleasure on long rides (with Sargeant seats).

Re: 1000/1100- Lots of questions

Well... my very first bike was a Honda CBR125. It made 17 hp. So, 15 hp from 100cc is definitely believable. I was surprised that my '04 1000 made less than 80 hp. But, both bikes were run on the same dyno for comparative shits and giggles, and the 1100 was noticeably different and about where I ...

not that i am trying to justify owning the 1000 but ummm
you are a little off on your HP diff between the 1000 andthe 1100

and i have ridden a sorted ...

Re: 1000/1100- Lots of questions

1. I started with an '04 1000DS. I now have an '07 1100S DS. Yup, there's quite a difference. The 1100 makes about 15+ more ponies, and more torque... enough for me to notice a difference. The later model Multis ('06-'09) have a lot of stuff sorted from the earlier models... valve guides ...

Re: 2007 1100S buying advice

I bought my '07 1100S with 1986 kms on the clock for $10,500. Full arrow exhaust/ECU, heated grips, hand guards, ZG screen, Pazzo levers, DP top box, center stand, etc. I think I got a great deal. It was basically a new bike, not even fully broken in, not a scratch. Things up here in Canada are ...

Re: 2007 multi

My first MTS was an '04. My second is an '07 1100S. Honestly, I can't tell a huge difference to the Ohlins suspension on the '07. Both rear shocks are adjustable. The front Ohlins rebounds a bit quicker, but the bikes both handled pretty much the same.
