The red key is more important than the card. The card gives you a code to override the immobiliser (I think). The red key is required to make duplicate keys work with the ecu and dash.

I'm 5'8" too with a 30" inseam and my stock height 1000S is just fine. I cannot flat foot both feet at a stop--but who cares? I never understood why some people feel this is a necessity. In your case being as tall as you are, you are probably going to flat foot a stock height bike in any event.
