Re: MTS 1100S vs. Sport Classic vs. S2R1000

Congrats!

Sorry to hear about those two disappointments tho.

I would be concerned the dealer let it go like that. Makes you wonder what else is awry.

An essential part of a good Ducati ownership experience seems to be a good dealer or independent mechanic. $100 spent in time can save $900 ...

Re: MTS 1100S vs. Sport Classic vs. S2R1000

Well I looked hard at a Multi and was able to take a long test ride but ended up choosing an S4Rs Monster, mainly because my passenger and I loved that short-stroke Testastretta superbike engine. No regrets but still hanker after a Multi and can offer you a bit of perspective on the S2R option, as ...

Re: Do MTS do high mileage or are they just sitting pretty?

:D :D :D I think that covers it ... if an admin were to rank this topic a permanent No. 1 on this page it could answer the most pressing question for a lot of prospective purchasers.

Re: difference between standard & touring

NoDukes, there has been a lot of discussion about this on the forum, although turning it up isn't that easy. I just did a couple of searches and the best I could come up with was this thread:

http://www.multistrada.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21812

which is to the point but not very long.

Maybe ...

Re: MTS1200 or ST2/3/4

I decided I want a Ducati, since I am Italian and also a fan of their superbikes. The monsters, hypermotards and old multistradas are out because they have a boring (to me anyway) engine. It would be like if Ferrari put their name on a 1.2 liter v4 compact car - why buy it?

This will be an ...

Re: Multistrada 1200S for new rider

Overall, I have depended on extreme focus and restraint to survive on this motorcycle for my first 2600 miles of riding.

Nicely put. I think it is the restraint that demands most from a novice on a bike this quick.

The 150 horsepower is a big selling point for the bike, right? So surely you use ...

Re: Multistrada 1200S for new rider

If you fly helicopters for a living, you can probably answer your own question very well with a bit of reflection.

I've never flown any sort of aircraft but I am guessing helicopters vary in their ease of flying and in their performance, with the most high performing often the most challenging to ...

Re: S vs non-S?

Here's part of the dilemma (if you can call buying a toy a dilemma)

I've found *very* few 07 S models used or new. I've found 2 potential standard models.

Any thoughts on that?

I suspect that speaks for itself.

But then, I've always liked Ohlins kit, and been disappointed with just about ...
