Re: MTS 620 with 40K miles
These engines have been in production in this basic form for 40 years and are very reliable, so the obvious things to check are service history, like belt changes, valve clearances and chain and sprockets.

Yes that will get you started. The CCW belts are probably as good as the originals. One or two people had trouble with them making a strange noise, but I don't think it was anything to worry about.

Re: 06 Multistrada 620, about to buy
Can I chime in here as an ex owner? The 620 motor is a gem, my favourite of the two-valve motors and as ducvet says is plenty fast enough.
The suspension is basic, but the forks are easily sorted with just a change to different oil, and I was perfectly happy with mine after I did this. The rear ...

IMHO opinion, the 620 is a great bike. The suspension can do with some upgrading, but on the whole it's brilliant.

Re: MTS 1100S vs. Sport Classic vs. S2R1000
I have a GT1000 and a Multi. For riding, the Multi wins hands down. Better riding position, fairing, miles better suspension, tubeless tyres. The Multi was built to be ridden, not ridden to the coffee shop + you would be getting an 'S' with Ohlins, lighter wheels and carbon bits. I don't think that ...

I own a 620 Multi. Have you considered a used one? They are pretty cheap and combine the best of both worlds.

Re: 1st MS test ride yesterday-observations
Hi Chris, I hope you enjoy the Multi, I love mine. Just a note on the seat; I have found mine very comfortable and have completed 11 hour days on it with no aches at all, but other owners here have found the need to change them. I guess we are all different shapes....

Re: MS 620 ???
Congratulations; I really like my 620, and here are a few ways which you can make it a better bike. Fit iridium spark plugs - these really smooth out the low speed running; fit a hugger, a 620 Monster one is cheap, just search the forums here for details and lastly, I would not be without my ...

I would always go for new; I have grim experience of 'pre owned' Ducatis.

Re: Yellow '06 620 ... thinking about it
Hi. I hope that you enjoy your Multi. As the bike is a used model I'd advise you to get the valve clearances checked by a local independent workshop of good repute (if you have one near you) or check them yourself if you are good with mechanical skills.
