Re: Ducati factory video

I've gained new appreciation for how Triumph builds their bikes:

True... however I was under the impression that demo bikes were broken in by the dealer / demo crew / whomever before they were released for use by the general public.

Re: Dealer Demo or Brand New?

My multi was a demo with 8000km on the clock. I've put on 20k since with nothing more than regularly scheduled maintenance.

As a demo, your 2yr warranty should start the day YOU pick it up, so there's still time to iron out the kinks.

For the money you save, it's well worth it. Sometimes having it ...

Re: Conundrum: Should I swap VFR750 for MTS???

I'm not a mechanic so don't know that I can work on the MTS, and foresee hitting the shop frequently - or at least consistently. That seems like a major bummer. I read a thread somewhere that someone was lubing their 1100s chain before every ride? Wow. Not that a lube is time-consuming, but if that ...

Re: Conundrum: Should I swap VFR750 for MTS???

I had a 1990 VFR, which was replaced by a 2002 F4i (the "comfy" sportbike), followed by the Multi.

Unlike you, I bought the Multi without a test ride, based solely on the reviews that I had read online and all of the positive feedback on this board.

It was a bit of an adjustment coming from a ...

Re: Are Demo Multis Not A Good Buy

Sounds reasonable considering the mileage and the Termis.

I find it odd that they're charging you for 600 miles service though... This should have been completed already! How can they charge you back for work that should have been done 1000 mile ago?

Just make sure you get the "out the door" price ...

Re: Are Demo Multis Not A Good Buy

I bought mine as a former "demo" bike with 8000km on the clock, and it had suffered a left-side drop.

When I picked it up the left side had been repaired /repainted (done properly!), mirror replaced, bolt plugs (the little plastic frame-cover things) had been replaced, and the two-year warranty ...

Re: What could I offer the dealer???

For reference (to my Northern brethren), I paid ~ $11,500CDN for an '06 "Demo" 1000S in Apr '07. 8000km on the clock. No troubles to speak of as yet (knock on wood.)

Of note, it had been dropped on one side, but fully repaired. Full 2yr warranty from the day I drove out of the shop.

Figure side ...

If they are part of the DNA dealership network, then it may be worth writing to DNA about it...

Re: engine heat

You will feel it a bit while stopped in higher temps but its not a big deal at all.

Ditto. When I'm moving, even with higher ambient temps, I don't experience any problems due to engine heat. When you're stuck in traffic it can get a little toasty... but no worse than my F4i.

Note - your ...

Re: Exhaust Smell..............

I don't think I've been on any bike that doesn't make me smell like gas a the end of a day of riding... VFR did it, F4i did it, Multi does it. One of the perils of straddling the engine while lying over the gas tank... More evident in city riding though.

I think the owner kicked the bikes out of Dairy Cream... so I'm not sure if they meet there anymore!

Most of the time we're at Tim's till 10P or later! If you can stop by, you're always welcome.

As for insurance, I went through State Farm who charges by displacement. The most I paid ...

Re: Canadian thinking bout Multi for next season, test rides?

Kevin,

I made the switch to the Multi from an F4i... based solely on the magazine & Internet reviews that I've read (all favourable), and after a thorough review of this forum. My first ride on the Multi was as I was driving it home from the dealership! Although I sometimes miss my F4i, I ...
