I have an 08 1100S. I had read about the fuel gauge issues but haven't experienced any trouble with the gauge after 4300miles. I have four other bikes & I think I've ridden one of them, once, since I bought the multi 2 months ago. It's a great bike to ride.

The great thing about the Multi and the relatively new crop of "adventure tour" bikes that do not try to pretend they will be ridden off road is that they offer more than enough sporting performance for the street and are comfortable enough to actually ride, not just look at.
I cannot imagine you finding the power of the Multi to be lacking and the suspension and brakes are on par with most sport bikes or better than most sport bikes if you get the S model.
There is a reason you see many sportbikes for sale with very low miles on them.
I love the look and sound of the sport bikes but cannot see owning one again unless I was focusing on track riding.
