I can't read the moto.it page...but it looks like it's saying the 2011 SBK will have a 90 degree twin, but it will be rotated back in the frame, so that there is no "horizontal" cylinder. Correct?

If so, that's no big deal. As long as the motor remains a 90 degree set-up then it is still an "L", which is just a V turned on it's side. L-twin is just Ducati marketing speak anyway. Now if they moved to a 70 degree twin or something, that would be news.
