i have located an 04 ms 1000ds for sale at the local ducati dealer and need some advice from those more educated in the world of ducati than i.

the machine has 16k miles and was maintained by a master mechanic. staintune full exhaust, heated grips, hard duc bags, rear hugger, pro taper bars, new clutch slave cylinder. all maintenance records intact.

what should i expect to pay for this unit?

any issues to expect related to the mileage?

any comments would be appreciated.

please help, i am losing sleep....

Hi Wasserboxer, I bought an 05 1000ds from a local dealer in November last year, with Termi exhaust, carbon rear hugger and chain guard, heated grips luggage rack and top box, clutch kit, new touring screen. 17.000 miles full service history for £ 3.500.00. the mileage isn't a problem at all, just check when the belts where last done.

What is the asking Price?

one of the best bikes i've ever owned, and iv'e been riding for thirty years.

hi pickers. i am working out the details on the price as i am trading my hd fxdc (yuk) in against the ms. the bike was on craigslist for $6600.00 usd before the gentlemen traded it in at the dealer. belts are good and service records are impeccable. the previous owner is a master mechanic with his own shop servicing various european models of autos. thanks for your interest. i just want the bike so my emotions are probably going to cloud my thinking anyway.

i just picked up 1000ds with term exaust, luggage, screen, gel seat. 6.8k miles for 6k. thank god he just did the 6kservice already.

I would not pay 6600 for that bike, no fucking way. I'm not impressed by that master mechanic bs. As long as you have service records you're good. Granted, my bike was originally 6700...

I would not offer more than 6k, period. 6600 is totally out of line with the market rate.

Overpriced in my opinion and what about the valve guides?

The bike is fabulous though. I love mine. It runs like a top no matter how bad I abuse it.

I too, am new here and am in the final stages of getting an 04 MTS DS..

I'm pretty happy with the service history etc.. I am having trouble finding a maintenance interval chart that I can refer to while making my final research.. Can someone scan and post theirs for me please and thanks?

I am at the same situation here. Multi 04 21.000klm ( 13.000miles) Service Record Full/ belts changed at 12000 miles. Many accesories. Termi Full Kit. I have a question....is it any chance for this bike for future problems? and 13.000miles for a 6 year motorcycle....? true? Exterior the bike is SHINING ! I rode it and it seemed fine///but i dont know many things about ducatis.
