I might pull the trigger on a used 2007 DS1100.....it would be my first Ducati. What should I look for when inspecting the bike & service records? Are there any maintenance or warranty issues I should be aware of? Any other advise before I go check it out? Thanks in advance.

Depends on how many miles it has. Belt replacement and valve adjustment are the two biggies for me. Not hard to do yourself but it would be good to know when it was done.

14K on the clock. It has bags (panniers) and appears mostly stock from the pictures. What is the belt replacement interval? Are the '07's affected by the expanding gas tank issues? The seller wants $6250 (about 2 grand under book)

When you say the bike is a 'DS1100', I'm assuming you mean a standard, as opposed to the Ohlins equipped '1100S' bikes. In '07 the designations for the two bikes went to '1100' and '1100S', with the DS and SDS being dropped. Does the bike you are looking at have Ohlins suspension? Wet or dry clutch?
Service will be due at 15k on an 1100, including valve check and belt replacment. Yes, all of the air cooled multis have the expanding tanks, including the '07s. I don't think that would be a deal killer for me though. Get the bike, get a brand new tank from your local dealer, have it treated and installed while the 15k service was being done and ride on!
If the bike is clean, and has a good sevice record, and particularly if it is an '1100S' model, I'd say that was a fair price. Good luck with your purchase.
