Does your local Ducati dealer do demo rides? For my 1000DS, the demo ride is what sold me.
I leaned to the Multi versus other sport tourers due to the reach to the bars. I am 5'7", and the other sport tourers had me reaching too far foward to be comfortable. The dirt bike like riding position just ...

I believe the heads are the same, just different material in the guides that is obviously a little more durable.

Re: WTB Multi 1000ds/s
Just for what its worth, i would still go with the 1000S DS, just because it doesn't have the closed loop fuel injection. I rode both on the same day, and many people might disagree with me, but i really didn't feel any power advantage that 1100 supposed to have over the 1000DS... honestly. I think ...

Get it checked out by someone knowledgeable with ducati's. If it checks out buy it regardless if it's what you want, ride it for a while then sell for a profit. As long as it's in decent shape, thats a smokin price.

Re: Looking at lightly used 06 1000S - valve guide question?
Where are you located? Who is your local dealer? I just had my guides changed in my 2005 S with 2,700 miles. I was outside the warrantee period, however, my dealer still covered the repairs. Some poeple here are reporting thier local dealers are not willing to goodwill the guides.

Re: Long distance rides
I bought my multi to replace a superbike and for longer rides. It fits the bill perfectly for me. The mulit is still very sporty feeling, but the riding position is still very comfortable. I can now do all day rides without fear of pain..

Re: WTB 1000DS black cam belt covers
I have painted the side covers on both sides of the bike with black duplicolor engine paint with very good success. I've put 2,000 miles on and no trouble yet.tweake wrote:i was thinking about painting the motor on my multi black like the older super sports . wonder how that paint would hold up for that .

Re: WTB 1000DS black cam belt covers
I sprayed mine with a textured black paint from Checker - and that was before heading to Alaska. Looks great and has held up just fine.

Good to know the multi isn't an oven.
