Did a search but can't seem to find much. So. How much exhaust and /or engine heat does the pilot experience on a hot day? Especially at sub-sonic speeds. I have rode a friends 998 and the exhaust heat seems problematic to me. Thanks.

I don't feel any heat specifically from the motor. The 4V motors produce gobs more heat that is felt by the rider than the 2V motors. I have ridden in over 100 degree temps and was hot from the sun but not from the bike. The same when I had my SS. Motor and exhaust heat was never an issue for me.
The 748 is a different story. I also rode my buddy's 749 and that thing was an oven.

Good to know the multi isn't an oven.
My 996 is "ok" if you keep the speeds up, but if you get caught in traffic your butt is going to roast...

Nah, that is not the cast with the Multi. The 2V motors don't seem to radiate the same amount of heat as the 4V ones do for some reason.

I've found the heat is really noticeable only when stopped, and occasionally there will be a hot draft.

You can feel the heat from the motor when completely stopped or moving under ten mph. I have never felt much heat from the pipes at any speed.

Yeah, at low speeds under my left ass cheek I feel the warmth - but thats strugling through London traffic - which is extreme conditions! Out on the open roads you wont notice it.

Prior to picking up the multi, the venture was out of commission, So I rode a rented Harley (only thing avalible to rent here) to a benifit ride in NYC and in the stop and go process of the ride the thing kept getting so hot it would shut down (In addition to frying my right leg). Just wondering if I can expect that with the Multi on rides like that.
BTW, not impressed with the harley, My venture is 20 years old and a far superior big boat touring bike in all respects, handeling, comfort, power, ride smootness, etc...
Also, 500+ bikes roling through NYC with a police escort was very cool.

Mine has entered the "HI" zone on occasion on hot days in heavy, slow traffic. I would either shut it down or ride the shoulder to cool it off.
