Newenough.com is my favorite for on-line gear. Their return policy if it doesn't fit is very good as well.
That said, it is good to support your local brick and mortar stores. If no one supports them they will cease to exist.

Re: 1000 dry clutch vs 11000 wet clutch
Sorry guys, but a wet clutch is a bit less Ducati, just like the new engine in V instead of L (new engine to see at Moto.it)
I can't read the moto.it page...but it looks like it's saying the 2011 SBK will have a 90 degree twin, but it will be rotated back in the frame, so that there is no ...

Re: 1000 dry clutch vs 11000 wet clutch
The dry clutch, especially with the open basket makes a wonderful sound that Ducati enthusiasts like myself really love. Dry clutch was designed more for racing (less weight on a spinning clutch when it's dry). A dry clutch also wears out faster than a wet clutch, but it's easy to replace the ...

Re: Multistrada In an Urban Environment
I didn't have any problems with my wife's MTS620 in stop and go traffic. Clutch pull was light, it started easily from a stop, and it didn't throw off a lot of heat from the engine. Overall very good in town.
The MTS620 only downside IMO is the suspension, which can be upgraded fairly easily.

Re: Advice Needed - MTS1100S vs. Monster 696 vs. MTS620
Since you're used to a VFR800, and the twisties are a ways away I say the Multistrada 1100, or better yet 1100S. Depends on how much you want to spend. You should be able to find a decent used one if you're patient.

Re: Rear Wheel Nut Tool - What's Best? (UK)
Speedymoto makes the best tool I've ever seen for the Ducati SSS nuts. It's pricey, but it is reversible for both the sprocket and wheel nuts. It is designed with a piece which slides inside the axle and prevents the socket from slipping off the nut.

So the hugger is not what the pannier hooks onto? Thanks. Are the panniers easy to remove, say like a suitcase, if you are traveling?

848 compatible stand will work just fine...only the 1098 has the larger axle.Italian Steed wrote: Stands for other Ducatis (748, 916, 996 998 etc) with a single sided swing arm should fit with the exception of a 848 and 1098 which have larger spindles.

Re: Wet/dry clutch comparison
My dry clutch has about 15,500 miles on it. It's fairly loud now as the tolerances are pretty far out, but it works well.
Difference between the clutches is the dry has a heavier lever pull, and is loud (even with the stock cover on). If you run with the cover on you'll have to take it off every 3 ...

The Triumph ST is supposed to be a nice bike. Can you go ride them both and decide which you like better?
Re: 620 Pipes
They definitely do not sound similar.
I don't like the sound of Staintunes. Not deep enough...kind of tinny. They sound great on Monsters, but not Multis. I'm sure plenty will disagree though as a lot have them. I've heard slip-ons, with and without baffles.

Re: high mileage '06 1000s question
No specific Multi experience, but know of plenty of people with >50K on their Monsters, and a few with greater than 100K. Same basic engine design. The Duc 2-valve motors are very reliable as long as they're taken care of.
