Wanna buy » MTS faults

[Hawg Driver]

Thinking of getting a MTS in Korea, however, would like owner inputs into any faults/bad experiences/ unknowns before I make the plunge. I have owned several ducatis 900SS/F-1B/916/ST4 so I know about their standard quirks.

If you've owned all those other Duc's there's nothing new to report, Ducati mirrors suck, they won't put an engine red line on the tack, won't put a real helmet lock on, and they still can't make a kickstand.
I love mine dispite the little faults.
I've never been to Korea, just nerver imagined a Ducati dealer there. Go for it, no machine is perfect, your just buying a bike to ride for a while, it's not like you choosing a wife.

I have a 2005 model. The mirrors are better, the sidekick is working, the helmet holder sucks ... there is nor redline to a duc

Personaly I like this one

As for this:

you're just buying a bike to ride for a while, it's not like you choosing a wife.

I tend to see it like "choosing' my girlfriend, not my wife
Things to consider when choosing wife:
- low maintanance costs
- low mileage between services
- very "strong duty"

Priorities when choosing girlfriend:
- looks
- fun factor
- riding fun

And so much more....

No offence taken, I agree entirely. While deciding on what bike to purchase is important, especialy if choosing between two models, it's not a life or death decision, it's not a life long comitment. I really like my MTS, but I really liked my Falco, and my SV650, and my ST1100, etc. But none of them were perfect. I'm still married to the same wife of 16 years but have had many rides. Life is too short for just one T-shirt.

I just "missed" on getting married just a couple of months ago (her decision, not mine though ). But so far, they tend to be a little "internet-ignorant" , so I guess they'll miss my previous post.

P.S: How are you doing Dick ? Hope you're well (Sue also). I've been quite busy lately with the army and all, and also a bit "down", anyway... My best wishes to you, spring is already here (I talked with a friend from London earlierr today and from what he told me, the weather is clearing up up there too ).

P.S 2: maybe I should go and get that solo-seat/pillion cover now, or not ?

Just one more thing: If I could find a "multistrada-wife", I'd do it in a blink of an eye . But they are all so hard to find.........Even Ducati produced the Multi after sooooo many years... (better late than never eh ? )

Don't rush into anything. I was 40 when I got married and like anything worth having Sue was worth waiting for. As to the seat cover I personally feel that bikes such as the MS are best enjoyed solo.
The weather has improved here and I have even taken the MS into work a few times. I hope to be taking it on a trip to one of Sues Hornet rallies in Lincolnshire next week-end
