About to bite the bullet on a low mileage '06 Multistrada 620, but something has been bugging me. Original owner had the instrument panel replaced once due to condensation, and essentially the odometer was reset in the process. Is this a normal occurrence? I have a record of the bike's actual mileage.

Multi dashes are notorious for getting condensation inside. They need to be covered when washing the bike or if left out in the rain. You can improve the seal with some silicon sealer or tape around the join - not difficult.Shanged wrote:About to bite the bullet on a low mileage '06 Multistrada 620, but something has been bugging me. So yes, this is a common occurrence and it seems dealers are/were unable to transfer original mileages onto replacement dashes. Multigatto is a well known member here who has a business that very effectively deals with dashboard issues and can update them to the correct mileage if it concerns you.
Don't let that issue be a deal breaker, rather be glad the problem was dealt with properly! I started my Multi ownership saga with a 620, and it is a gem of a bike. You won't regret getting one, and this Forum will be happy to help with a depth and detail of experience.
Politicians are like babies' nappies: they should be changed regularly. And for the same reason.

Thanks for your replies!
I am not so much concerned about the condensation, the new dash has it as well (I will have to try the low-wattage bulb trick).
I was more worried that a reset odometer could lead to registration/service interval headaches - seems like something that should be hard to do! If it's just a matter of inconvenience on my part, I can live with it.
