Hello all,
I currently have a BMW 1150RS, and it treats me well but the long distance 1-2up touring I originally bought it for just isn't happenning. All I really have time to do is commute on it and go for occasional afternoon runs. I still need hardbags and some wind protection or I'd be considering a naked. Has anyone made a switch from a Beemer to the MTS, and how did they feel about it?

redamn,

I have some experience here as I've had a very similar BMW for the last 9 years, a 94 r1100rs which I have really enjoyed espeically for the mix of 1-2up touring I do. But last year I added a multi to the stable mostly for the shorter rides I do, occasssional track days and, well, just cuz I've wanted a duc for a long time. Since you just arne't doing the touring you thought you were, I would definatley say go for the duc. Its just a lot more fun riding aroung even if the roads arent' scenic and twisty. For me it adds enjoyment to the straight, crowded, pothole ridden roads we have here in Chicago. A multi can certainly be toured on too, tho I don't beleive it is nearly as comfortable as my beemer or your 1150 is on long hauls esp 2-up. (my wife doens't like being on the back of it but does like the BM). Hey, her loss.
