Yes, the prices are all over the place! I wanted about 6k for my 620 back in May/June, would have taken $5,500 and ended up trading it in for $4,500 - which is actually like getting about $5,000, because I was able to put the pro-rated sales tax difference toward the new bike.

Re: Advice Needed - MTS1100S vs. Monster 696 vs. MTS620
I was at a local dealer's Ducati demo days on Saturday and was back on a HM for the 2nd time. I have only a 32" inseam and had no problem flat-footing. Activator, maybe you have the pre-load cranked?
It's possible the dealer cranked it up a bit to match my height/weight. I didn't have ...

Re: Advice Needed - MTS1100S vs. Monster 696 vs. MTS620
I just bought a Hyper. (My MTS 620 is for sale in the Marketplace) I really love the 620, it does everything I need and has been 100% trouble-free, but I've had a ton of comfort issues. Note that I have comfort issues everywhere - office chairs, couches, beds, etc., so a LOT of it is just "me". The ...

Re: Purchasing MTS 620 without a test ride
When I hit the magical age of 40, I also decided that a bike was the way to go. I read every book, magazine and web site I could find, researched, planned, drooled, and eventually bought an Aprilia Pegaso (650 single dual-sport, the F650's "Italian cousin") without having ridden anything more than a ...

Re: 620 or 1000 for Highway and Big guy
I'm 6'4" and a few lbs. over 200, and I find the 620 to have plenty of power, particularly when riding 1 up.
I used to have an Aprilia Pegaso, which is basically an F650, and I've ridden an F650 a few times. Comparing the MTS 620 to the F650 is like comparing a Corolla to a BMW 318i. The MTS is WAY ...

Re: Pannier Sizes
Not to hijack this thread, but WHERE can a guy get the 28L side cases? I don't want/need the bigger bags. The smaller/thinner bags look better and would handle my needs. Do they even MAKE the 28L's any more? (Do you buy 34L's and replace the lids to make them into 28L's?)
Confused.
Confused.

Re: Fuel Mileage on the 620?
I believe you are SUPPOSED to fill it ON the sidestand, which allows the fuel to completely fill the tank. I think it says this somewhere in the manual.

Steady 60 mpg riding 50/50 suburban-town/backroad scratching. I don't ride it super-hard and generally short-shift around town.

Re: Dilemma... S2R 800 or MTS 620???
The sticker on my new '06 MTS Gloss Black (not "Dark") was $8,495 before dealer fees, registration and sales tax.
$6,995 sounds good, but you need to decide if it's worth saving $1,500 to buy a bike that has been ridden 800 miles by who-knows-who, and was most likely not broken in by the book ...

Re: Dilemma... S2R 800 or MTS 620???
When I wanted a change from my BMW R1100S, I had planned on buying an MTS 1000 but, when I rode both the 1000 and the 620 1hr each, back-to-back, two days in a row (my dealer was VERY patient!), the 620 just felt better! Somehow I "connected" with it better.
The 1000 has more power on paper (and I ...

I am considering trading my R1100S for a Multistrada (possibly the 620). I just don't ride the S as much as I should, because I've realized it is just TOO much bike for the real-world "around town errands with some backroad twisties thrown in" riding I actually do. The solid feel of the ...
